GCSE Motivation Day
Students and staff were involved in a series of inspirational workshops on Thursday 22nd September.
Jay and Michael from the Fix-Up crew ran a series of motivation sessions to prepare Key Stage 4 students for the important year ahead. The focus for the day was study skills and motivation. Good learning habits were explained and demonstrated in the workshops. In addition, students set their own personal goals. The need to be a resilient learner was highlighted as a key factor for success. Students were shown how to improve revision techniques and time management.
The evening session for parents was very well attended and we value the home school partnership that enables students to reach their potential.
The student booklets used throughout the day are available for parents to revisit with their child in order to continue with the strategies at home. We wish all our GCSE students good luck in achieving their OPTs throughout the year.

The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.
Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
