Post 16 Celebration Evening
On Thursday 12th November, Haydock High School welcomed back the students who had left in the summer for an evening of celebration. During the evening students were given all of their examination certificates which they had gained during their time at the school and these were presented by Mr Murphy.
The guest speaker for the evening was former student Daniel Griffiths who spoke to the students about how he had joined Haydock High in Year 8 and during his time at the school his confidence increased and he was able to enjoy many fabulous experiences including trips abroad. Daniel had never wanted to go to university and instead chose to use his qualifications to find a job. Now at the age of 23, he is able to fund his own travels which have included trips to America with a roadtrip along Route 66, many trips to Europe and also a holiday in Mexico. He is now planning on going to Australia. He encouraged the students to set themselves goals and to always try their best at everything they do. We were also delighted to have our recently retired Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Griffiths, return to present the students with their departmental awards.
It was a lovely evening where students and staff had the opportunity to catch up with each other about where they were up to and what they were doing now.
Special presentations were made to the students who were voted by staff to receive an award for their 'Service to the School' - Megan Robinson was awarded the 'Sybil Arnold Award' and Connor Brookes the 'Sam Bell Trophy'.
Our congratulations go to all of our school leavers and we wish them all every success for the future.

Haydock Curriculum
The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.
Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.

Haydock Leisure Centre
Facilities With a £250,000 refurbishment in 2006, the PE department and Leisure Centre were refurbished to accommodate more people and classes, offering a wide range of activities to students and the wider community. The changing rooms are of a high standard with disabled access, automatic showers and private cubicles. Sports Hall The Sports Hall can accommodate the following: 5 a side football, whole Sports Hall Cricket, whole Sports Hall Badminton, whole or half Sports Hall Keep Fit and much more.
