Haydock High Open Evening 2016
On Thursday 29th September we opened our doors to welcome prospective students and their families to Haydock High School. We had over 400 people visit school between 5.30 and 8.00pm, giving them the opportunity to see our school in action with lots of fantastic activities, interactive sessions and displays.
Our own students acted as guides to take families around our school and were great ambassadors and made the staff proud to work here. They showed our true values, which can be seen on the Haydock Charter, including promoting tolerance, respect, trust, honesty, kindness and hard work. The whole school showed how Haydock High strives to promote and celebrate success amongst all of our students.
Particular credit goes to our Head Boy, Kadir Gokoglu, and Head Girl, Jessica Wilton, who delivered two superbly written speeches with maturity and confidence. You can find Jessica's speech attached below, where she explains that she applied for the role of Head Girl as she felt "proud to represent the school and help others achieve their best and make students, teachers and parents and the community feel as proud of Haydock High" as she does.
Well done to all who were involved in the evening.

The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.
Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
