Positive Review from the Local Authority January 2017

Following on from the September Review through the Local Authority, Haydock was pleased to welcome back the Review Team on 23rd January 2017, comprising 4 Reviewers, including a former Senior HMI, HMI, former Secondary Headteacher and Primary Headteacher. These colleagues worked alongside the Senior Leadership team, Governors and Heads of Departments to evaluate the school in relation to the 4 areas covered by OFSTED. A summary copy of the Review's positive findings is available here and the full review is also available here.

Headteacher Ian Murphy said of the Review’s findings:

"Once again, we are delighted that there is strong recognition of our work in how we tirelessly try to improve the life chances of our students. We are grateful for the chance to work with our students, their families and our community and any acknowledgement of our work only makes us more proud and determined to improve still further. In a time of uncertainty, we will always put the students’ welfare and best interests first, and this report only gives us more motivation to address anything in school which is less than excellent. Our students deserve no less. We will again ensure that we work on those areas which we know we must, and we are grateful to the LA for their support."

Haydock Curriculum

The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.

Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
