Haydock High hosts our first Student Attendance Conference
On Tuesday 8th November 2016, Haydock High School held its first Student Attendance Conference.
40 students from Year 9 and 10 worked with members of staff from the Education Welfare Service to discuss the importance of high school attendance, the barriers that impact students' attendance to school and how these can be overcome.
Mrs Wright (Deputy Head) attended the conference and said that ‘It was a very successful event; a great opportunity for students to voice how Haydock High can support them further in raising attendance. Days off school soon add up and missing lessons makes it hard to catch up, resulting in students having to work harder when they come back, as well as potentially missing vital information that will prevent their progress. We are very much hoping this will become an annual event and support us our aims to reach 96% attendance for all students’.

Haydock Curriculum
The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.
Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
& Our School

We take great pride in serving the needs of our students and are dedicated to each and every one of them making outstanding progress in their time at our school. To this end, we undertake a significant commitment and interest in them as individuals so that we can most effectively meet their specific needs.
