Give Peas a Chance: Two avid gardeners share lunch with Mr. Murphy.

On Friday September 16th, Mr Murphy and Mrs Hornby met with two Year 8 students, James Cassidy and Drew Morgan, to share a lunch of fish and chips which were accompanied by the most important part of the meal: garden peas.

James planted the seeds for the peas earlier in the year and was extremely excited to give Mr Murphy a tour around the school garden, taking the opportunity to show Mr Murphy what else the Gardening Club were planning to grow in springtime.

Whilst proclaiming “give peas a chance”, Mr Murphy sat and discussed the school Gardening Club over a plate of fish and chips which were accompanied by a side order of the students’ very own school-grown garden peas.

As well as discussing what the students were intending to grow, Drew discussed his excellent knowledge and excitement about caterpillars and butterflies, knowledge gained from studying them during the summer term, giving Mr Murphy the opportunity to have a caterpillar that he could watch grow and eventually turn into a butterfly.
