Christmas Carol Service

On Friday 18th December students had the opportunity to go to Christ Church, Haydock to take part in an Ecumenical Carol Service. Years 7 and 9 were the first group to go, escorted by staff whilst the remaining students took part in various activities in school. Upon their return the students from Years 8, 10 and 11 walked to church and were able to attend the second carol service whilst the first group could then take part in the activities within school. Mr Carter and his musicians provided the music and students were involved in dance routines, readings and singing. The atmosphere was lovely as students got into the Christmas spirit and joined in with the singing of traditional Christmas carols finishing with a rousing chorus of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Thanks must go to Mrs Sandra Morris, Youth Pastor at Christ Church and all the members of the church who made the students and staff so welcome. .

Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
