Celebration Evening

Well done to all of those who won awards at our Celebration Evening. It was a wonderful event to celebrate the achievements of students from all year groups, including some of June’s GCSE successes.

It was great to see so many students and their guests attend to collect awards and see performances from the school choir and Mary Ellen Roberts and James Melia (performers from Haydock’s got Talent).

Our guest speaker for the evening was St Helen’s coach Justin Holbrook, who gave the students some inspirational advice about pursuing dreams and goals. Justin also presented the certificates to all of our winners and we would like to thank him for his contribution to the evening.

We were also joined by Mr Nick Walters from our sports sponsor Basset & Gold, who presented their own award for our Sports Person of the Year. Anacia Leyland was this year’s winner. We would like to thank Nick for travelling from London to make the presentation and for Basset & Gold’s ongoing support.

Thank you to all of those who attended and took part and we look forward to next year's event!

Haydock Curriculum

The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.

Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.
