HAYDOCK HIGH SCHOOL BEHAVIOUR, ATTITUDES AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Members: At least 4 governors
Quorum: 3 governors
Chair: To be appointed by the committee
Clerk: To be appointed by the committee
Frequency: 3 meetings per academic year
Terms of reference:
- Seek assurance from the school management that the full Governing Body (FGB) has all necessary student behaviour and safety related policies to meet statutory and local requirements.
- Where delegation has been agreed by the FGB, approve and review the effectiveness of statutory policies, plans and procedures relating to student behaviour and safety related matters:
- Safeguarding Policy
- Home School Agreement
- Sex Education Policy
- Written statement of behaviour principles
- Where requested by the FGB, review the effectiveness of non-statutory policies, plans and procedures relating to student behaviour and safety related matters.
- Where requested by the FGB, recommend for approval following consideration of the effectiveness of student behaviour and safety related Local Authority policies.
- Consider and advise the FGB on standards and other matters relating to student behaviour and safety, including any statutory requirements delegated to the committee:
- Attendance
- Bullying
- E:safety
- Drug education
- Physical and mental health
- Emotional wellbeing
- Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education
- British Values

Haydock Curriculum
The pace of curriculum change continues to accelerate, for example introducing a more flexible Key Stage 3. Our constant planning offers confidence for successful delivery and assessment of these areas.
Over the last few years we have been successful in achieving Sportsmark, Investors in People, Artsmark, Careers and Guidance and Healthy Schools accreditation. We were also awarded the accolade of a ‘Get Set’ school in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.

Haydock Leisure Centre
Facilities With a £250,000 refurbishment in 2006, the PE department and Leisure Centre were refurbished to accommodate more people and classes, offering a wide range of activities to students and the wider community. The changing rooms are of a high standard with disabled access, automatic showers and private cubicles. Sports Hall The Sports Hall can accommodate the following: 5 a side football, whole Sports Hall Cricket, whole Sports Hall Badminton, whole or half Sports Hall Keep Fit and much more.
